Buuki – an opportunity for books

The communication platform Buuki.pl, which develops a virtual network of independent bookshops, may intensify book sales and the mutual relations bookseller-publisher. Buuki’s main purpose is to promote sales in classic bookshops by applying modern IT and location-based technologies. The Buuki platform develops cooperation between all entities in the business without eliminating any of the current partners. Instead, it intensifies and ensures the transparency of book sales on the market. At the Warsaw Book Fair 2018, we want to present to publishers and booksellers the platform’s potential and the directions of its further development on the example of online data from approx. 40 bookseller databases merged into one system. Our presentation will focus on: 1. Availability of the titles to the customer. 2. The proportion of titles actually sold in relation to the ‘available’ titles. 3. A new form of selling slowly selling and withdrawn books as a proposition for publishers. 4. The option of active online advertising and local promotion. 5. The opportunities for the development of classic bookshops parallel to online development, along with their technological and qualitative progress in customer service and the possibility to implement know-how following the development of global businesses. 6. Direct contact of all partners on the platform.
