In the winter of 2007, he traveled alone from Moscow to Vladivostok, and his book "White Fever: A Journey to the Frozen Heart of Siberia" is an account of his months-long ramble in a Russian rover. In 2011, his "Kolyma Diaries: A Journey into Russia's Haunted Hinterland" was published, the fruit of a lonely hitchhiking trip to Kolyma. He is also the author of the books "Długi film o miłości.
